Before Bad Boy or Roc-A-Fella Records—well WAY before them—was Black Swan Records, the first black-owned record label in America. Founded in 1921 in Harlem, New York by Harry Pace, Black Swan Records specialized in jazz and blues, but also became the first company to record black classical musicians.
